East Welcomes Mrs. Webb to The Herd
Allison Webb is an amazing new addition to the East Forsyth Language Department, and she could not be more excited to join the team and embody what East stands for. Webb developed an interest in teaching in her early childhood. She later explored her passions for Spanish and French through her many college study abroad experiences where she was able to embed herself into the languages and the culture of the communities of Spain, Quebec and Peru. “I went to UGA on a Foundation Fellow Scholarship which allowed me three travel grants, allowing me to study abroad to several European countries, where I was living in homes with native speakers, which was more beneficial than learning through college professors,” Webb said.
Mrs. Webb attended the University of Georgia for her undergraduate degree, Georgia State for her Masters degree, and is currently attending Valdosta State university for her Doctoral Degree. Her double-major of the Spanish and French led her to pursue a career in education, and she currently teaches Spanish 2, Spanish 3, Spanish 4, and AP Spanish at East Forsyth High School, as well as French through the Forsyth Virtual Academy.
“It was a community that matched my core beliefs, and as an educator the ‘East Way’ is something I strongly believe in,” Webb said. Although she has previously taught at numerous schools throughout Georgia, Mrs. Webb believes that East Forsyth is where she is meant to be, as it most aligns with her values as a teacher and allows her to teach a wide variety of classes. Her favorite part of teaching is watching students and socializing with them staff members throughout her day. She has made strong connections with the Language Department and cannot wait until she is able to befriend staff members of all departments. Webb is an amazing addition to the East Forsyth Staff and an educator who truly values her students and her career as a whole.
